The Andalucia Ornithological Federation (Federación Ornitológica de Andalucía – FOA) is the largest Ornithological Federation in Spain.
171 societies provide for more than 13,200 members, many of which enjoy deserved recognition and prestige at international level. This serves as evidence of the marked ornithological tradition of the people of Andalucia.
It is presently a member of COM-ESPAÑA and is affiliated to the CONFEDERACIÓN ORNITOLÓGICA ESPAÑOLA (COE) having expanded its scope of activity to all the national territory.
Its technical assistance is provided by the PANEL OF JUDGES OF ANDALUCIA (COLEGIO DE JUECES DE ANDALUCIA-CJA), presently made up of 75 judges, of which 30 are expert judges from the ORDRE MONDIAL DES JUGES (OMJ) affiliated to the PANEL OF JUDGES from the SPANISH ORNITHOLOGICAL CONFEDERATION (COLEGIO DE JUECES de la CONFEDERACION ORNITOLOGICA ESPAÑOLA-COE).
Every year FOA, in conjunction with its societies, organises a regional show with approximately 5000 exhibits, the most recent of which has been organised in the town of Montalban in Cordoba, in December 2016, with a notable success both in terms of participation and attendance.
Such an active state has established FOA as a thriving ornithological institution that is growing at a dizzying pace, thereby being perfectly qualified to assume the responsibility of organising the 65th WORLD BIRD SHOW, Almeria 2017.
